Adoption of new software application will enable time and cost savings and offer customers more options

Vehicle production companies that offer customisation should sit up and take note as E-Max Systems, the manufacturing ERP software provider, today announced that it has been working with vehicle conversion company, Cartwright Conversions, to provide new functionality to their flagship software application, E-Max ERP. The new functionality will enable Cartwrights to offer their clients almost unlimited options for customisation, whilst helping to improve the efficiency of the production process for their quality bespoke vehicles.

Cartwright Conversions, part of the Cartwright Group, are one of the UK’s leading vehicle conversion companies.  They provide a wide range of vehicles, ranging from ambulances to patient transfer and police cars. Vehicles are built to the highest standards in an ISO-9001 accredited facility by experienced technicians.

Steve Shaw, Managing Director of Cartwright Conversions said: “Cartwright Conversions has gone from strength to strength as our reputation for providing quality bespoke vehicles continues to grow. In the last few years we’ve seen an increase in demand for more specialist vehicles and we want to put ourselves in a position where, in terms of customisation, we can achieve anything a customer asks of us.”

“Unfortunately, the planning and production of highly customised vehicles is usually a long and laborious process. We wanted to find a way of reducing the delivery time across all of our vehicles, and especially the highly customised ones. We were delighted to find that E-Max could offer us a solution with E-Max ERP.”

E-Max ERP is a fully integrated business-wide software application that enables companies like Cartwrights to streamline their processes, make decisions based on real time data, and reduce costs and waste. Built around a powerful manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system, E-Max ERP’s modules include CRM, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Capacity Planning and Scheduling, Quality Management, and Financials.

Jason Pritchard, Sales Director of E-Max Systems explains “Cartwrights are a very customer focused company and clearly want to offer their customers the greatest choice of options at a competitive price.”

“We were delighted to be able to offer Cartwright’s some very specific functionality. We’ve taken our standard part configurator and added features to enable their team to take the basic bill of materials (BOM) for each vehicle configuration and quickly and easily adapt it to the required specification.”

“This means that existing designs can be tweaked in minutes. Because this information also feeds through the entire system, Cartwrights will be able to quickly and accurately advise the customer of costs and delivery timescales.”

“This will provide Cartwrights with significant time-savings as they no longer need to build a new BOM each time, instead the pre-configured options mean a new BOM can be created in a fraction of the time it took previously. This will free up a considerable amount of resource that can be deployed elsewhere in the production process.

“In addition, every new configuration is stored within E-Max ERP under each specific customer, so it’s simple to review what’s been done previously. They’ll also gain complete visibility of all areas, including materials, purchasing and costs.”

“At E-Max we pride ourselves in providing solutions that fit with our customers’ processes, so they don’t need to change their business processes. Cartwrights are a successful and progressive business who want to build on their many strengths and utilise technology to improve their efficiency and we are delighted to be part of that journey.”

Both Cartwright Conversions and E-Max Systems will be exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC from April 30 – May 2 but in the meantime you can find out more about Cartwrights or E-Max ERP by clicking on the links.
