E-Max Systems Aligns Leadership Structure to Support Ambitious SME Manufacturers
E-Max Systems has announced a strengthened leadership structure designed to support its next stage of growth and ensure the business remains closely aligned with the needs of ambitious manufacturing and engineering SMEs.
The changes, which take effect immediately, will see E-Max founder and current Managing Director, Charles Kerr, move into the role of CEO. Fraser Walker, previously Operations Director, will become Managing Director, with Drew McNamara and Mike Colman stepping into the roles of Operations Director and Sales Director respectively. All other roles within the business remain unchanged.
Supporting the Next Stage of E-Max
The updated structure is not a change in E-Max’s values or its day-to-day commitment to customers. Instead, it is a deliberate step to place experienced people where their knowledge can have the greatest impact as the company continues to grow, develop its product range and work closely with customers using E-Max ERP to achieve demanding business goals.
Over the last few years, E-Max has worked increasingly closely with a number of ambitious, technically demanding and fast-growing businesses that use ERP to support stronger operational control, better decision-making and scalable growth. Alongside this, E-Max continues to support a broad range of manufacturing and engineering SMEs that want powerful, practical ERP software, industry knowledge and the right guidance to help them get the most from their system.
The new structure will allow E-Max to build on this approach, with greater focus on product direction, market needs, strategic customer engagement, delivery, implementation and the continued development of E-Max ERP as a leading cloud ERP solution for manufacturing and engineering SMEs.
Placing Experience Where It Can Have the Greatest Impact
Charles Kerr, Founder & CEO, said:
“E-Max has always been built around understanding real manufacturing and engineering challenges, then developing software that helps customers manage those challenges more effectively. Since 1998, we have taken E-Max from a simple MRP system to a powerful cloud ERP platform, and that journey has been shaped by the customers, engineers and users we have worked with along the way.
“My focus as Founder & CEO will be on the future direction of the product, making sure E-Max ERP continues to meet market needs and exploring how new technologies, including AI, can be used in a practical and valuable way. This is an important and positive step for the business, and I believe this structure gives us the right focus for the next stage of E-Max.”
Fraser Walker, Managing Director, explained:
“Having worked across many areas of E-Max and with so many of our customers, I have seen how much value can be created when we work closely with them to understand what they are trying to achieve and ensure that the system is used optimally.
“Our customers are often dealing with complex processes, growth pressures and demanding operational targets. My focus will be on making sure E-Max continues to support those businesses with the right mix of product capability, practical experience and customer understanding. We have a strong product and an equally strong team, and this structure allows us to use that experience even more effectively.”
Fraser has been with E-Max since 2014, moving from software development into operational leadership. His experience in developing solutions around customer requirements has given him a strong understanding of the manufacturing sector and the challenges faced by businesses using ERP to improve processes and performance.
Drew McNamara, Operations Director, noted:
“I’m delighted to be taking on this role. I’ve worked in technical support for a long time, and I’m confident that my understanding of our customers and our products will allow me to identify areas where we can make the biggest difference.
“My focus will be on our delivery, projects and implementation processes, making sure we continue to improve how we work and how we support both new and existing customers. The aim is to make E-Max easier to adopt, easier to use and more valuable to the businesses that rely on it.”
Drew has been with E-Max since 2016 and has managed the technical support team for several years. During that time, he has built extensive knowledge across E-Max products and has played an important role in helping customers resolve queries, improve usage and get more from the system.
Mike Colman, Sales Director, stated:
“My background is in manufacturing, so I understand many of the pressures our customers face because I have worked in those environments myself. That experience is incredibly useful when speaking to businesses about ERP, because the conversation is not just about software features. It is about what is happening in production, in stores, in planning and across the wider business.
“In this role, I’m looking forward to continuing to work with new and existing customers to show how E-Max ERP can support their goals, improve control and help them get better results from the way they work.”
Mike joined E-Max in 2020 after more than 15 years in CNC operations and stores management. Since then, he has worked across implementation and sales, combining practical manufacturing experience with detailed product knowledge and a clear understanding of the environments where E-Max ERP is used.
